What is PRP?

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is derived by drawing a small sample of your blood, then using a centrifuge to isolate a concentration of plasma rich in platelets and growth factors. This powerful “liquid gold” has been used across medical fields for tissue repair and regeneration.

How It Works for Under-Eyes

By injecting PRP under the eyes, the growth factors and cytokines stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, increase blood flow to the under-eye region, tighten loose skin, and reduce visible darkness and crepiness. Treatment is typically performed over four sessions spaced approximately one month apart, with maintenance every 6–12 months thereafter.

Treatment Highlights

• Session duration: approximately 45–60 minutes in-clinic
• Because the plasma is derived from your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction or rejection is virtually nil
• Most patients begin to see results by the third session, with progressive improvements in skin texture and under-eye darkness over time
• Minimal discomfort — a numbing cream or vibration technique is offered for comfort
• Post-treatment swelling for approximately 24 hours and possible mild bruising are normal and resolve naturally

Pre- & Post-Care

Before treatment: Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (such as ibuprofen and naproxen), fish oil, and garlic for at least 7 days to reduce bruising risk. Stay well-hydrated — drink at least 1 litre of water in the 24 hours prior to your appointment.

After treatment: Expect mild swelling in the under-eye area for approximately 24 hours. You may resume normal activities immediately, but avoid facial massages or treatments for the first 24 hours. Mild bruising may occur and will resolve naturally.
