Stratamed is an advanced, transparent, and semi-occlusive film-forming wound dressing gel used after surgery, full-field resurfacing procedures (such as ablative laser), or on deeper wounds. Developed with a special consistency to ensure it remains in strong contact with the wound bed or damaged skin surface, Stratamed dries to form a thin, flexible, gas-permeable, and waterproof protective film that creates an optimal environment for faster wound healing.
Registered as a European Class IIa, TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration), and FDA-listed Class I medical device (wound dressing), Stratamed is suitable for use on open wounds and mucosa (including nasal, oral, and urethral). It is inert, has no measurable pH, and contains no alcohol, parabens, or fragrances — making it suitable for all skin types, including children, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and those with sensitive skin.
Stratamed is recommended for:
Stratamed requires substantially less product per application than typical moisturizing creams or barrier ointments due to its unique film-forming formulation.
Step 1: Prepare the skin. Ensure the affected skin or superficial wound is clean. Gently pat dry any excess exudate or wound fluid from the area before applying the gel.
Step 2: Apply. Apply a very thin layer of Stratamed directly to the affected area.
Step 3A — Without secondary dressing: Allow the gel to dry. When applied correctly, Stratamed should be dry within 5–6 minutes. If it takes longer, too much has been applied — gently remove excess with a tissue and allow drying to continue.
Step 3B — With secondary dressing: Apply a thin layer of Stratamed, then cover with a secondary dressing. Drying is not necessary. Reapply when changing the dressing, when checking wound progress, or as directed by your doctor.
Step 4: Once dry, Stratamed can be covered with clothing, sunscreen, or cosmetics.
Apply once or twice daily, or as advised by your doctor. For best results, maintain continuous contact with the skin (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).
Excess Stratamed on hands can be removed by washing with liquid soap and warm water. Repeat if necessary. Stratamed may stain clothing if not completely dry — dry cleaning should remove staining without damaging fabric.
